Booking, cancellation and weather
None of this is clever. It is written down so that nobody has to argue about it in a driveway.
Booking
New customers request an estimate visit by phone and the office confirms the slot by text or email within one working day. We need at least 24 hours notice for any estimate visit. Existing customers get priority on the schedule when the book is tight, which from April to June it always is.
Cancellation
Cancel or move a scheduled visit free of charge with 24 hours notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice carry a 60 dollar fee, because at that point the slot cannot be filled and somebody has already loaded the truck. To cancel a recurring mowing service, tell the office and the owner will call you back to confirm. We do not cancel recurring service on the phone call itself, and that is not a sales tactic, it is because twice we have cancelled somebody who turned out to be a house guest.
Weather
Rain or lightning postpones a visit to the next available working day at no charge and we text you the new day. Mowing skips a week when the ground is waterlogged. We do not mow in a thunderstorm and we will not be talked into it.
Deposits and payment
Jobs over 500 dollars need a 20 percent deposit, collected by the office before the start date. The balance is due on completion. We take card, check and bank transfer. Weekly mowing is invoiced monthly and is due within fourteen days. We do not take cash from the crew, so please do not hand Luis an envelope.
Missed visits
If we missed a scheduled visit, tell us straight away. The owner handles every missed visit himself and the make good visit is free. Ring (614) 555-0147 and ask for Marcus, and if he is on a mower leave the address with Dana and he will call you back the same day.
Access and pets
Gates unlocked by 7 in the morning on your route day please. Dogs inside. If the gate is locked we will do the front and bill the full visit, because the truck still came.
