Winter
Short version: we are mostly shut and we do not plough.
No snow removal
We do not do snow removal, we do not salt drives, and we do not sub it out to somebody who does. The equipment is a different trade and the hours are the reason Marcus got out of a landscaping job he had before this one. If you need a plough, you need a plough company, and we genuinely do not have a name to give you.
What does happen in winter
The mowing routes stop after the last cleanup, which is usually some time in the middle of December depending on when the leaves finally give up. Hardscape work carries on until the ground is too hard to dig, normally the first week of December. After that the crew is on equipment maintenance, the trailer gets its floor replaced about every third year, and Dana answers the phone on reduced hours.
Booking for spring while it is still winter
This is the sensible time to do it. We write hardscape quotes all winter for a spring start and the book fills from January onward. Mowing signups for the new season close in the first week of April and after that we are full until somebody moves away.
Winter damage
If a branch comes down on a bed we will clear the bed as part of the spring cleanup. We will not take the branch down out of the tree, because that is tree work and we do not do tree work. If the lawn has plough damage along the drive from whoever did your snow, the spring cleanup can repair the edge and we will quote the seeding separately.
