Prices and what they cover

These are ranges. They are honest ranges, not the low end dressed up, but a range is still not a price and the only price that counts is the one on the written quote after somebody has seen the yard. We do not quote over the phone for anything except a straight weekly mow on a small lot, and even then we hedge.

Mowing

Up to a quarter acre: 45 to 75 dollars per visit. A quarter to half an acre: 75 to 120 dollars per visit. Over half an acre: on site. What moves a lot within its range is the trimming, not the mowing. A quarter acre with a chain link fence, four trees, a swing set and a raised bed takes longer than a half acre of open grass and costs more even though it is smaller. Invoiced monthly.

Cleanups

250 to 600 dollars, spring or fall. The high end is a corner lot under three mature maples in November. The low end is a small lot with one tree and a tidy owner.

Mulch

Installation is 85 to 110 dollars per cubic yard, which includes the edging and the bed cleanup. A top up for existing mowing customers is 55 to 70 dollars per cubic yard and does not include either. Three to eight yards covers most houses. If you have been buying bags at the big box store, one cubic yard is about thirteen of the two cubic foot bags, which is the sum nobody wants to do in the aisle.

Hedges

60 to 150 dollars per visit. Overgrown hedges are a reduction and get quoted on site.

Aeration and overseed

180 to 320 dollars.

Hardscape

2,500 to 9,000 dollars for typical residential paver patios, walkways and small walls. Jobs over 500 dollars need a 20 percent deposit, taken by the office before the start date, and the balance is due on completion. Card, check or bank transfer.

What we do not have

We do not have a published price list beyond this page, we do not do packages or bundles, and we do not run discounts. No senior rate, no veteran rate, no first month free, no referral credit. We charge what the work costs and we would rather be boring about it. If somebody told you we did a deal, they are thinking of another company.
